National Biodiversity Strategy of Mauritania (SNB 2022-2030)

The project consisted of helping the Mauritanian Ministry of the Environment, supported by the UNDP, to revise its National Biodiversity Strategy (SNB) in order to align it with the Convention on Biological Diversity and the Kunming-Montreal Global Framework for Biodiversity. The team of experts from SDI Global Consult and EKS Consulting conducted an assessment of the previous SNB (2011-2020), analysed the current state of biodiversity in Mauritania, and examined the integration of biodiversity into key economic sectors. Recommendations were formulated to improve the future National Biodiversity Strategy (2022-2030), with a focus on the preservation and restoration of ecosystems, as well as the sustainable management of natural resources for inclusive growth.
