SDI Global Consult partnered with Expertise France to provide support on the implementation of their BIODEV2030 and POST-2020Biodiversity Framework projects. BIODEV2030 is a French Development Agency(AFD)-funded project with support from Expertise France, IUCN and WWF France to encourage the development of sectoral voluntary commitments contributing to a development path consistent with the preservation of biodiversity in the project’s pilot countries: Benin, Burkina-Faso, Cameroon, Republic of the Congo, Ethiopia, Fiji, Gabon, Guinea, Guyana, Kenya, Madagascar, Mozambique, Uganda, Senegal, Tunisia and Vietnam. The POST-2020 Biodiversity Framework project, supported bythe European Union, contributed to the global negotiations towards an “ambitious COP 15 agreement on biodiversity”, with strong and measurable commitments that can be effectively implemented after COP15. SDI provided thorough coverage and expert analysis of all negotiations leading to and during COP15, to identify how biodiversity can be integrated into sectoral policies and strategies, align common goals and activities between SDGs implementation and biodiversity initiatives and identify key issues and components on biodiversity. Specific focus was made on mainstreaming, means of implementation, sustainable use, ABS, biosafety, indicators and the new Global Biodiversity Framework (GBF) monitoring system.
