The project consisted of helping the Mauritanian Ministry of the Environment, supported by the UNDP, to revise its National Biodiversity Strategy (SNB) in order to align it with the Convention on Biological Diversity and the Kunming-Montreal Global Framework for Biodiversity. The team of experts from SDI Global Consult and EKS Consulting conducted an assessment of the previous SNB (2011-2020), analysed the current state of biodiversity in Mauritania, and examined the integration of biodiversity into key economic sectors.
SDI supported IRD’s SEP2D programme with legal expertise to guide project leaders on ABS compliance under the Nagoya Protocol.

SDI contributed to CAP COP22–23, supporting youth engagement in climate action and highlighting the role of young professionals in global climate negotiations.
